D-Day Museum Room

A new addition for our guests is a small museum room of Second World War Battlefield relics and WW2 memorabilia.

Many of the relics have been found locally by Dale with his metal detector. It also includes WW2 and D-Day veterans photographs and many soldiers personal stories.
This is unlike any other museum and is very much a 'pick it up and touch it' experience for all our guests.

The Battle for Pretot-Ste-Suzanne
On the 6th of June around 250 American Paratroopers of the 501st & 507th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 101st & 82nd Airborne Divisions, landed around the area of Pretot. Then on the 19th of June the 3rd Battalion 508th PIR of the 82nd fought and won the village but then withdrew. The commune of Pretot was finally  liberated on the 5th of July by the 90th Infantry Division. The fighting resulted in 60% of the commune buildings being damaged or destroyed.
